Abstract:

High solid coatings have been developed to address the concerns of high VOC that are normally associated to conventional solvent-based coatings. With significantly less solvent in such coatings current trend is to use the more acidic catalysts to improve efficiency and effectiveness of high-solid coatings during thermo-curing processes. It could be a challenge to many manufacturers when light stabilizers are required for protecting coatings from UV degradation, at the same time to prevent negative impacts to acid catalyzed coating systems. Everlight Chemical Industrial Corporation (ECIC) has introduced a new type of light stabilizer product Eversorb 85 and low-basicity light stabilizer product Eversorb 95 in 2009 that can enhance the weathering property for coatings effectively.

 

As leading light stabilizer manufacturer Everlight Chemical Industrial Corporation, has developed several novel products for high solid, acid catalyzed coating systems. The presentation will begin with the fundamentals of light stabilizers followed by the discussions of product performance in each coating system. More importantly, this is the first time a special light stabilizer, Eversorb 85 and Eversorb 95, designed for high solid, acid catalyzed coating industries been presented in China Coat.
