At the award ceremony on September 16, Everlight Chemical Chairman Chien-Hsin Chen personally attended to accept the award on the company's behalf — recognition of Everlight Chemical's years of technical accumulation and innovation in light stabilizers and functional masterbatches.
Product Technical Highlights
Eversorb® MPC220 Anti-Blue Light Masterbatch 2026 TaipeiPLAS Award Gold Award
Development Background: As digital devices become ubiquitous, prolonged exposure to high-energy blue light from electronic screens can contribute to macular degeneration, driving increasing demand for eye-protective materials
Core Technology: A synergistic "push-pull" effect between electron-withdrawing and electron-donating molecular groups achieves a significant red-shift, extending the absorption range from the traditional UV band (280–380nm) into the blue light band (400–420nm); the core technology is patent-protected (TWI879357B)
Performance Data: At 1.6mm PC thickness, dosages of 10% and 20% reduce harmful blue light transmittance (<420nm) to as low as 13.62% and 2.75% respectively, while maintaining over 87% visible light transmittance at 500nm with negligible color shift
Long-Term Weather Resistance: After 1,000 hours of accelerated weathering per ASTM G154-1, anti-blue light performance shows virtually no degradation — a marked contrast to most commercial anti-blue light products, which degrade significantly after weathering
Application Flexibility: Primarily carried in PC resin, but can be customized for PET, PMMA, or PA12 substrates to meet customer needs — widely used in anti-blue light lenses, consumer electronics displays, automotive/educational display cover lenses, and LED lighting
