Waterborne coatings possess many advantages such as non-toxic, odorless and solvent-free, and are widely used in various fields. Even antibacterial coatings, one of the most popular products during the current COVID-19 pandemic, are also the application of water-based coatings.

To maintain the appearance and protective function, waterborne coatings also need to use light stabilizers. Traditional light stabilizers are usually solvent-based and difficult to disperse into waterborne systems and can easily lead to operation difficulty and performance defects. Mr. Miles Hsieh from Everlight Chemical will explain the key factors of light stabilizers selections for waterborne coatings and how to enhance weatherability without sacrificing efficiency.explain the key issues for light stabilizers selections for waterborne coatings and how to enhance weatherability without sacrificing efficiency.

To prove the weatherability, most of the coating products are requested to do artificial weatherability tests to simulate the natural sunlight exposure. Mr. Craig Hazzard from Atlas will be here to explain the comparison of natural sunlight and laboratory light sources, and how we should choose the appropriate equipment for testing.
